1. Kazhugu
Kazhugu (English: Eagle) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy-thriller film written and directed by newcomer Sathyasiva, starring Krishna Sekhar and Bindu Madhavi in lead roles. The film, produced by Krishna’s father K. K. Sekhar along with K. S. Madhubala, features music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The story revolves around four persons, referred to as “Kazhugu”, who recover bodies of suicide victims who jump off a cliff.
Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi (titled Love Failure in Telugu) (Tamil: காதலில் சொதப்புவது எப்படி, English: How To Mess Up In Love; Telugu: లవ్ ఫెయిల్యూర్) is a 2012 Indian bilingual romantic comedy film based on the same-titled short film directed by debutant Balaji Mohan and resembles to the English film (500) Days of summer. Starring Siddharth and Amala Paul, the film was simultaneously produced in both Tamil and Telugu languages.
Dhoni (Tamil: டோனி, Telugu: ధోనీ) is a 2012 Indian drama film written and directed by Prakash Raj. A bilingual, simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu languages, it features Prakash Raj himself in the lead role, along with Akash Puri and Radhika Apte. The plot illustrates the conflict of interests of a father and his son; the father wants his son to study MBA, but his son is more interested in sports and wants to become a famous cricketer like Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Vettai (Tamil: வேட்டை; English: Hunt) is a 2012 Tamil action film written and directed by N. Linguswamy. The film stars Arya, R. Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead roles while Ashutosh Rana, Thambi Ramaiah and Nassar played supporting roles. The film score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while cinematography is by Nirav Shah and editing handled by Anthony Gonsalves. The film became announced shortly after the release of Lingusamy’s Paiyaa, with Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies agreeing to produce the film, following a successful collaboration during the director’s previous film.
Tamil-Telugu hero Siddharthis once again back with Sridhar, directed by debutant Venu Sriram with Shruti Haasan in the lead. Interestingly the film is the dubbed version of Tollywood flick Oh My Friend. The film also has Navdeep and Hansika in lead roles. The Tamil version is released by Satish under his own banner Satish Film Corporation.
Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (English: One Stone, One Mirror) is an Indian Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh. It stars producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, in his acting debut, Hansika Motwani and Santhanam, whilst featuring Harris Jayaraj’s music and Balasubramaniem’s cinematography.
